Maximal Crossed Product Orders over Discrete Valuation Rings

چکیده
The problem of determining when a (classical) crossed product T = S ∗ G of a finite group G over a discrete valuation ring S is a maximal order, was answered in the 1960’s for the case where S is tamely ramified over the subring of invariants S. The answer was given in terms of the conductor subgroup (with respect to f) of the inertia. In this paper we solve this problem in general when S/S is residually separable. We show that the maximal order property entails a restrictive structure on the sub-crossed product graded by the inertia subgroup. In particular, the inertia is abelian. Using this structure, one is able to extend the notion of the conductor. As in the tame case, the order of the conductor is equal to the number of maximal two sided ideals of T and hence to the number of maximal orders containing T in its quotient ring. Consequently, T is a maximal order if and only if the conductor subgroup is trivial.

Almost valuation rings
The aim of this paper is to generalize the notion of almost valuation domains to arbitrary commutative rings. Also, we consider relations between almost valuation rings and pseudo-almost valuation rings. We prove that the class of almost valuation rings is properly contained in the class of pseudo-almost valuation rings. Among the properties of almost valuation rings, we sh...
متن کاملFinite group scheme extensions , and Hopf orders in KC 2 p over a characteristic p discrete valuation ring
Let p be prime. Let R be a discrete valuation ring of characteristic p with field of fractions K. Let C p denote the elementary abelian group of order p. In this paper we use Greither’s approach for classifying short exact sequences of finite R-group schemes to classify R-Hopf orders H in the group ring KC p , reproducing a result of Tossici. We then go further by providing an explicit descript...
متن کاملExponent matrices and their quivers
Exponent matrices appeared in the study of tiled orders over discrete valuation rings. Many properties of such orders are formulated using this notion. We think that such matrices are of interest in them own right, in particular, it is convenient to write finite partially ordered sets (posets) and finite metric spaces as special exponent matrices. Note that when we defined a quiver Q(E) of a re...
متن کاملValuations and Higher Level Orders in Commutative Rings
Valuation theory is one of the main tools for studying higher level orders and the reduced theory of forms over fields, see, for example [BR]. In [MW], the theory of higher level orders and reduced forms was generalized to rings with many units and many of the results for fields carried over to this setting. While it seems desirable to extend these results further, the techniques used for rings...
